Matariki
This month June is the month of the Maori new year. We have been researching what they did to celebrate new year in the past, how was Matariki found and who was the person that first spot Matariki.

Immersion Assembly
This morning we started off with an Immersion Assembly in the Hall. Each team performed an item relating to their theme for this term. Team 1's topic was based on their favourite things. One of Mrs George's favourite chocolate is Whittakers Hokey Pokey flavoured chocolate. Team 2's theme for this term is all about seasons. Team 3's is all about Architecture. Team 4 is all about the comic life, and our team is all about the Wakas which are Hikianalia, Hokule'a, Te Aourere and Hine Moana. I am looking forward to kearning all about the four wakas.

Market Day!
WALT: write and interesting and detailed recount.
Hooray it is was market day! Selling products, Buying products and enjoying products.
People excitingly waiting in line to withdraw money in order to buy products. Everyone rushing as they set up workshops for the products they have made.
Market day! All term we have been working hard on products to sell. There are five different groups where students have been put into, Custom Stationery, Kitchen, Jewels and accessories, Toys and Home ware. I was put in Toys. I make fun toys for students to play with. Every week we get a chance to go to our enterprise groups and make our products to sell on this big market day.
Before all the buying selling we had to set up our stalls. As setting up my station there was a row of desks not just for my station it was for others as well. i only took two desks. I hanged a poster on it advertising my products so students can come and buy it. I had a partner with me helping me set up the station. Once we finished setting up our station we waited for our teachers instructions.
I had a chance to swap with my partner which means she is selling the products while i get to go shop around students stations. In the bay area was the Kitchen group. Students were selling ice blocks, cakes hot chips and brownies. it was feeling pretty hot for me so i decided i’d buy me and watermelon flavoured ice-block. It was so delicious.
What an awesome experience I had that Friday. I enjoyed a lot of things. But there was one thing I wasn't really happy of. I didn't really finish making students orders. Other than that I really enjoyed it.

Conjunctions
WALT: We are learning about conjunctions and how to use them in sentences.
- We went home and went straight to bed.
- They are rich but they aren't happy.
- We went home because we were tired.
- We went home early, so we missed the end of the concert.
- We went home when Jane wanted to.
- We went home before the concert ended.
- We went home after Max Jones had sung his first song.
- We went home although / though we did not really want to.
- We will go home if we are tired.
Gene can go to school since she is feeling super awesome.
Lena has a sore foot, although it is getting better.
Katarina won’t be going to the movies unless she cleans her room.

Description of Learning:
Today in our Literacy class, we learnt all about conjunctions. All these words which I highlighted red, represents a conjunction word.
