Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Everyone. I hope each and every one of you had an great Christmas. I had an awesome Christmas spent with my family. We went over to my uncle and aunties place to have lunch, then came back and just listened to music and fell asleep. Anyway's have a safe holidays and Happy New years :)

Kawau Island / Camp Bentzon

Intro. Last week from the 17th - 20st of November the Year 6’s of Pt England School went on a camp to Kawau Island / Camp Bentzon. It was so fun i didn't really want to come back.

So on Tuesday morning (the first day of camp) the Year 6’s gathered in the hall, in their groups. There are four groups. Bentzon, Mansion, Kawau and Katz. All four groups are divided into two. Like for example there is ‘Bentzon A’ and Bentzon B. I was put into Mansion A. My team leaders we’re Rosalina and Emmanuel. Anyway, we gathered in the hall in our groups and our teachers called out a roll to make sure everyone was there and that no one is missing.
With excitement all the Year 6’s made there way onto the bus and I waved Goodbye to my mum.  On the bus i sat next to Talita’s mum, and at the back of us we’re Akosita and Lotu. In front of us is Mr Sommerville and William. On our way we passed the city and went pass houses in random places. To me it didn’t really take long to get  to the Wharf.

When we arrived at Camp Bentzon we first went on a Hike. I am being honest i disliked the hike. It was very tiring, my back hurted badly, especially because I was carrying my bag. I walked with Heather and Olivia. Way at the back of us was Miss Vaafusuaga with Loseli and Sulieti. We had  Alfa’s Dad walking behind us. It was pretty funny when we we’re walking because we almost fell over a rock and every time do we will laugh.

My favourite activity at camp was Sailing.  Sailing was the first activity that we done in the cold morning. Peter (our instructor) gave us important instructions that we needed to know before we go onto our sail. I chose to be a solo sailer which meant i sail by myself. Peter chose me to demonstrate to my group. First i chose my sail. I chose a blue one. After I chose my sail I hopped in it, it was scary because it was my first time. After I demonstrated to my  group we all went onto a sail and started sailing. Our target was Sammy (the big blue boat). Mr Goodwin and John (our group leader) we’re on Kayak’s and they would tell us when to turn around. Once everyone in our group was comfortable with sailing towards Sammy and back we went to the other side of the sea.
I pulled the rope till it was pretty tight and it went fast! I arrived there first with Mr Goodwin.

Camp was so fun at Kawau Island. I sort of miss it. I hope you enjoyed this piece of writing.

Adaptation

Definition of Adaptation: The action or process of adapting or being adapted.

What i think Adaptation is:  I think Adaptation is when an animal is learning or trying to survive in another environment that they are not used to. I also think it means when they use body parts to help themselves to survive.

Animation - Polar Bears

My chosen animal is a Polar Bear. The Polar bears white fur helps them blend in with the snow an ice. A polar bear has a layer of fat under its skin which helps it stay warm (when cold) . It also has a thick coat of fur. That's how it adapts's itself.

Can i afford it?

Market Day!

WALT: write and interesting and detailed recount.

Hooray it is was market day! Selling products, Buying products and enjoying products.
People excitingly waiting in line to withdraw money in order to buy products. Everyone  rushing  as they set up workshops for the products they have made.


Market day! All term we have been working hard on products to sell. There are five different groups where students have been put into, Custom Stationery, Kitchen,  Jewels and accessories, Toys and Home ware. I was put in Toys. I make fun toys for students to play with.  Every week we get a chance to go to our enterprise groups and make our products to sell on this big market day.

Before all the buying selling we had to set up our stalls.  As setting up my station there was a row of desks not just for my station it was for others as well. i only took two desks. I hanged a poster on it advertising my products so  students can come and buy it. I had a partner with me helping me set up the station. Once we finished setting up our station we waited for our teachers instructions.


I had a chance to swap with my partner which means she is selling the products while i get to go shop around students stations. In the bay area was the Kitchen group. Students were selling ice blocks, cakes hot chips and brownies. it was feeling pretty hot for me so i decided i’d buy me and watermelon flavoured ice-block. It was so delicious.

What an awesome experience I had that Friday. I enjoyed a lot of things. But there was one thing I wasn't really happy of. I didn't really finish making students orders. Other than that I really enjoyed it.

Over the past few weeks I have been learning about 3 Dimensional Shapes. Last week I learnt how to make a few shapes. Today in class our teacher taught me some properties of 3 dimensional shapes.  Here is a presentation which shows you properties of 3D shapes.

If I could eat this very tasty chocolate every twice a week for a snack it would be awesome.


The new Dairy Milk Jelly popping candy is awesome You can find this at supermarkets and Dairies
It is a combination of bubbling candy and a bit of normal candy in there. It is wrapped with paper plastic.

As soon as I got a piece of this chocolate i already knew how delicious it was going to be. I took a piece of chocolate and stuffed it in my mouth and i felt bubbles bubbling all through my mouth, and the delicious taste of the chocolate melting. It felt like I already had  a lot of the chocolate.

If I we’re to improve this chocolate to make it even better I would make the taste of the chocolate a bit more tastier.  Other than that i think the chocolate is perfect.


Overall what a wonderful chocolate. I would give a rate of nine out of ten. It is a nice chocolate but it is not the best chocolate.

Bean Bags for hire.

WALT: persuade the reader to agree with our message


Bean bags are comfortable to sit , Lie and relax on .


During class time the bean bags are available for hire to sit on. Instead of sitting on the hard uncomfortable carpeted floor or on a cold chair, you will be able to sit on the relaxing bean bag to do your work or read a book.


The bean bags are filled with soft beans and covered in a rubber skin. They can be moulded into the shape of your choice. You can choose to sit on the bean bag, or use it to lean back on, have a nap , or even sleep on.


The bean bags come in all sorts of colours. At school we have a choice of turquoise or nice leafy green. It is your choice which one you would like to hire.


The price of the bean bags are 3pt each. You pay once at the beginning of the day and then you can use the bean bag for the rest of the day.


Remember for 3pt you can sit , Lie  relax on a beanbag during class all day, while doing your work.

Description of Learning:
In this task we we're given a piece of writing from our Literacy teacher. We had to recraft paragraphs to make each paragraph detailed.

A Million Dollars at the Mall !!

Having million dollars at the mall, I'm thinking Shoes, food, clothing and stuff  I really like. I wouldn't believe that amount of money if I opened up my bank account. Honestly  I would be shocked.

Toy world. This is a place like where you can buy your favourite toys. If I had to pick toys that I would want, I would pick out 2 minion teddy (bob and Kevin), a few car toys and maybe thats all because I'm really not a toy fan. I would buy these because these are what I love and I think its worth buying. 

If I were to buy anything at a mall it will have to be shoes. I would go to footlocker and buy with one million dollars, probably two pairs of converses, two pairs of Nike's and a pair of vans, which is a total of five shoes. I wouldn't wipe out the whole store of shoes, because where would i store them once I arrive home. 

At the food court i'd buy a mix of food. I'm thinking crazy Big Mac combo mixed with Whopper Jr from Burger King also a mix of fries, i’d splash some butter chicken in there and take a medium bite of my mixed burger.

Buying all these stuff will be absolutely amazing , However i think it’s not really worth it. I’d rather you know buy something that’s worth for my family with this amount of money, Or i’d love to donate some money for those poor families around the world.

Super Mario!

Well Hello Amigos and Welcome. Today i will be talking about a game that i think most of you know. ‘Super Mario World.  You can find this game on most game websites. It is an enjoyable, Frustrating and Fun game. So come on and lets have some fun time with Mario.  


The aim of this Super Mario World game is to try and pass each level.
By passing each level you must  try and avoid your enemies which are fat birds . You also have to try and collect the Yellow shining i think it helps you throughout the next level.


Mario is the main Character in this game, and has become a famous icon for the company Nintendo. He wears bright blue denim overalls and a red long sleeve top underneath.  A matching red hat, with a ‘M’ which stands for his name, glowing white gloves and shiny brown shoes. He jumps to collect coins and stars, and to dodge ugly evil little enemies.


The main controls of the game are the arrow keys on your keyboard. The arrow keys moves your Character to where you want it to go. To jump up you use the ‘^’ arrow key. Also if you jump on your enemy it will make them vanish.
Super Mario World can get super annoying when it comes to the part when you keep on dying and losing.

Beware Pt England For Winter is coming !

Winter season is heading our way. We have a lot of fun things and we also do have to remember to keep ourselves warm.

This report is about the season ‘Winter’, and also some tips for you to go to school every day during winter and not to be lazy.

So it is almost the time of the year that I have been waiting for Winter! It is the season where it is very cold and windy. In Auckland it brings really bad storms and bad weather. Sometimes the Sun likes to show itself but most of the time it hides.

This means for Pt Englanders Bad luck because most students at Pt England School walk to school. They are affected because they would not feel like coming to school because of the rain.

It is important to come to school even though it is raining. The rain does not stop you from coming to school you can just wear extra layers and keep warm. Alisha a student who goes to Pt England School says this “ People should just get over it , it’s raining the rain won’t hurt you”.
